Subclass 417 Work and Holiday Visa
The subclass 417 visa is available for young adults known as working holiday makers who want to extend their holiday in Australia and gain practical experience in order to fund their stay. This visa allows an applicant to stay up to 12 months and travel to and from Australia on multiple occasions. An applicant can be eligible for a second work and holiday visa provided that the applicant has, during the first year, completed 3 months of specific work in Regional Australia, and a further third work and holiday visa may be granted provided further work conditions are met.
Subclass 417 Visa Criteria
- Holder of an eligible passport
- Must be from the age of 18 to 30 (18 to 35 for Canadian, French and Irish citizens)
- Must not have previously entered Australia on any other Working Visa
- Must have at least $5,000 to support your stay and leave from Australia
- Meet the health and character requirements
- Have proficient English
- Sign the Australian values statement
- Paid back your debt to the Australian Government (if any)
- Not have had a visa or previous application refused
- Have a return ticket or proof of funds to purchase a return ticket to eventually leave Australia
