Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa

The Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa (subclass 476) is a temporary visa which allows the applicant to live, work and study in Australia for 18 months. On expiration of the length of the visa, there is no option to renew it and the applicant will have to apply for another visa if they wish to continue living, working or studying in Australia. An applicant who applies for the Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa 476 must meet, adhere to and comply with the following requirements:

  • Must be aged 31 or under
  • Completed a bachelors, postgraduate, masters or doctoral degree/qualification in an engineering course in the last 2 years prior to the application
  • The degree/qualification must have been completed at a specified educational institution that has been accredited under the Washington Accord
  • Meet the health and character requirements
  • Have not previously held subclass 476 or 485 visa

This qualification must be in an engineering discipline, such as:

  • Civil engineering
  • Structural engineering
  • Chemical engineering
  • Environmental engineering
  • Electrical and electronics engineering
  • Mechanical, production and plant engineering
  • Mining and material engineering
